American ’30s dining in Bangkok

The latest opening from most successful fine dining in town, Water Library, decided to open the first grill and bar in its portfolio.

Located at the Empire Tower in Sathorn, The Capital is designed to make its guests travel back in time to the ’30s, where banks and financial institutions were prestigious scenes, with opulent decors and monochrome floors. This steakhouse cum seafood restaurant offers a variety of quality meat selection from around the world, plus freshly delivered seafood, and an interesting range of wines, cocktails and craft beers.

The menu is simple, satisfying and heavy on meat. The Capital is the ideal choice for meat or fish aficionados, offering classic meat cuts from Australia, USA and Japan, pluPrivate rooms some lesser-known beef from different parts of the world, as Italy, Germany and France. The dishes are simply prepared and focus on the ingredients and the quality of the charcoal.
The prices are extremely competitive and The Capital provides the best value for money without compromising on the quality of the ingredients.

The Executive chef, acclaimed Haikal Johari, supervises the kitchen, returning to the basics of cooking: grilled meat. The difference in the grilling is given by the use of high temperature and natural wood that help retaining the natural moisture and juiciness of the meat.
The young chef Sebastian Schäfer arrived in Thailand in 2014, now takes care of  management of the kitchen at the Capital as Chef de CuiBarsine.

The crowd is mostly well-dressed business executives, who come to partake in a fine-dining lunch. The atmosphere is vital with a New York City vibes of Wall Street.

The bar is a dark wood counter, with glossy moWagyu Kamichikunochrome marble flooring and safety deposit box-inspired panels on the walls, giving a monumental feel to the casual steakhouse venue.

Enjoy one of their signature dishes – we suggest the Kimichiku steak – while sipping one the incredibly fair priced wine by the glass, and for one moment feel like having your lunch break in the Big Apple!
