Youtube Wine Class

As a wine enthusiast, you might have bought a book (or two) once on the basics of wine. Perhaps you have visited Wine Folly or any other website or blog that educates the netizens in all matters fermented grape juice. There’s a lot of information out there regarding wine, and it’s safe to say that one can become a sommelier by browsing the internet and reading books.

Yet processing all that information can be tedious. If you have a full-time job and other worries on your mind studying can be hard to commit to. And where some people find they don’t have the time or energy to study, others just don’t have a mind wired to the task. A good alternative then is watching.

On Youtube, you can find many educational videos about wine. We watched hours of them so we could list the best ones for you here. These Youtube channels all aim to broaden your wine knowledge. So sit back with a good glass and some nibbles and soak up some wine knowledge.

Olly Smith’s Drink Tank

This channel only contains ten videos but it covers most of the wine basics. The information is made easily digestible by the comedy and slapstick Olly uses. His style may come across as clownish, nonetheless, you’ll be surprised how much you’ll take away from it.

Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET)

The WSET is a British wine and spirit education institution which organizes classes all over the world as well as online. Their Youtube channel contains over seventy instructional videos with a large focus on wine regions.

Helena Nicklin aka Winebird

A description of her channels starts with “Pah to dry wine facts…”. Needless to say, Winebird, takes a lighter approach to teaching you about wine. Although she can be a bit overly quirky at times (a matter of taste), her knowledge of wine is solid.

Whitney Adams

Whitney is a self-described wine lady, entertainer, and party enthusiast. She’s very American and has a bit of an attitude. What’s without a doubt is that her knowledge about wine and spirits is on a professional level. Her style, on the other hand, is spontaneous which results in fun yet informative content.

Chelsea Wine Vault

The Chelsea Wine Vault is a New York wine and spirits shop which also organizes classes. Their videos are informative and feature experts in spirits and wine. The content varies from product reviews, wine reviews, and basic wine classes. As the WSET videos, these are more serious in tone.

We hope you enjoy and learn something from these channels. If there are any good channels we’ve missed, please don’t hesitate to share them with us. Cheers.
